Easy and Cheap Ipod Stand

My stand broke on my Ipod case so instead of paying $15 for a new case I made my own.

I used two binder clips – one Large and one Medium.  Insert the Medium clip into the mouth of the Large clip and you done.

To make a little more fancy add some ribbon.

You can also use it as a cellphone stand.

Hard Hat Challenge

I work for a construction company doing admin work on a jobsite.  I love it!!!!  It’s like cardmaking, you have a plan and build the product, we do the same thing.

My superintendent went to purchase me a hard hat and our supplier decided to give me one instead.  It happened to be a HOT PINK hard hat.

So in the creative way I do things….I decorated my hard hat.  I used my Silhouette SD machine to cut out the vinyl decorations.  I love how it turned out.

I have a few blank spots on the back but I think I made it busy enough.  They will certainly know its me coming.

2010 Wall Calendar

My in-laws are renovating their kitchen and had some scrap melamine hanging around.  I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to snatch it.  My father in law cut to size for me as well.  They were using it to line the shelves and drawers, so I decided, I would use it for book covers and today I used it for the backing to my 2010 Wall Calendar.

I used Stampin Up’s Pattern Pack II for the background paper.  The calendar and phrase was printed and cut from my Silhouette SD machine. I added primas and rhinestones as embellishments.  Then I added ribbon as the hanger.

Saturday Night Games

Every Saturday night my MIL, SIL Hubby and I get together to play cards.  We have a blast playing Shanghai Rummy.  We were keeping score on scrap paper but since we are all so competitive – well at least my Hubby and SIL are – I made an altered journal for us to keep our scores in.

I didn’t have spare cards so I made my own using a Studio G stamp set and cover a composition book.  We are now serious gamers.

Altered Box and Cards

I made this altered box to hold greeting cards.  It’s covered in patterned paper and I used foil tape to cover the edges.  Here are the cards I included in the box.

An Altered Sign

I picked put these cute paint your self signs at the $1 Store and couldn’t wait to alter them.

I made this sign for my new niece that is arriving at the end of the month.  It matches her baby book I am putting together.  Her name is going to be Jaymee Grow.  I hope my sister loves it!!!

Altered Flip Flops

I picked up a pair of flip flops from Walmart the other day and wanted to make them a little more flashy.  Here is what I came up with.

Stationary Box

I found some instructions to make a Stationary Box by Jackie Topa.  It’s amazing and so easy to do.  Here are the photos of mine.  All papers are from Club Scrap.  It has a compartment for cards, notecards, tags, address book, stamps and I found these mini pens at Staples and they are the perfect size.  I can’t wait to make more.  I made this for a very special Auntie of mine, I am so glad it made her day!!!

If you would like to try it yourself download the pdf here.

Altered Card Tin

One of the swaps I joined this summer was to alter a lunch tin, make dividers and 8 greeting cards.  I just loved the way the tin turned out.  I bought a Basic Gray Lunch Tin and got started.  I didn’t have a large “S” so I printed one off the computer and cut it out of chipboard and patterned paper.

Six of the cards I made are single panel 4×6 cards that I embellished with ribbon, flowers, rhinestones etc.  They make notecards.

Sara P. I hope you enjoy your tin.
